Swift Reflections is a site authored by Chris Swift. Chris began blogging at the start of the SARS-COVID-19 pandemic. Posting a weekly blog, Chris writes on a broad range of topics including theology and spirituality in public life. In different ways the writing and images chart a personal path of thought and observation as the world changed in 2020, and beyond.
Chris has worked in chaplaincy for 30 years. This has included part-time prison ministry; teaching Masters courses for military chaplains; and a significant period spent in the health and social care sector. His PhD was an exploration of spiritual care in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) and forms the foundation of his title Hospital Chaplaincy in the Twenty-first Century. Chris holds an honorary research post at the University of Leeds and is Visiting Professor of Religious, Spiritual and Pastoral Care at Staffordshire University.
